Check Out Some Drinks That May Make You Urinate Frequently At Nights
Nocturia, also known as nocturnal polyuria, is the medical term for nighttime urination. During sleep, your body produces less urine and more concentrated urine. This means that most people do not need to wake up during the night to urinate and can sleep for 6 to 8 hours uninterrupted. You may have nocturia if you need to get up twice or more during the night to urinate. In addition to disrupting your sleep, nocturia can be a sign of an underlying medical condition.
So, in accordance with a series of researches that were conducted, we will take a look at some of the drinks that may cause Frequent Urination at Night. If you don’t want to get up several times in one night to urinate, avoiding these drinks before bedtime is the best option. Simply sit back and relax while learning something new from this article.
• Alcoholic beverages should be avoided before bedtime because they can act as diuretics when consumed in excess, causing you to wake up several times in one night to urinate.
• Caffeinated beverages or beverages containing caffeine should not be consumed before going to bed. Caffeine is present in some of these drinks, including coffee, tea, and some energy drinks, but consuming caffeine before bedtime may result in an overactive bladder.
• Acidic fruit juices, such as orange juice, grapefruit juice, and even tomatoes, should not be consumed before bedtime because they can cause nighttime urination.
• Artificial sweetener drinks, such as soda and carbonated drinks, can all cause frequent urination because they contain extra sugar, which may cause the kidneys to work harder to get rid of the glucose in the blood, causing you to wake up several times during the night to urinate. This could disrupt your sleep cycle and lead to other issues later on.
