Here Are A Few Things That, If Taken In Excess, Can Lead To Infertility In Men
Failure to conceive is defined as clinical infertility by the World Health Organization and the International Committee Monitoring Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ICMART) if pregnancy is not established after 12 months or more of regular unprotected s*xual int*rcourse. While either one or both partners may contribute to the couple’s reproductive difficulties, male infertility, like female infertility, is a clinical diagnosis that can only be determined after formal assessment and testing.
One in every eight couples has difficulty conceiving or maintaining a pregnancy. Approximately one-third of infertility is caused by the female partner, one-third by the male partner, and one-third by a combination of problems in both partners or is unexplained. Male infertility is more common in areas with high levels of pollution, such as water contaminants, pesticides, and herbicides. According to some recent population studies, sp*rm counts have been declining globally, even though infertility has not increased significantly.
1. Alcohol: Alcohol is considered a food in most cases because some men consume it on a daily and habitual basis. However, research has shown that excessive alcohol consumption can reduce a man’s sp*rm count, making giving birth to younger children more difficult for the man. So, for your own good, reduce your alcohol consumption and only consume it in moderation, as advised.
2. Soy products: Most soy products contain estrogen to varying degrees, making them a good food for women who have reached menopause, but not so good for men who plan to have children in the future. The reason for this is that the estrogen in soy can harm or reduce the rate at which the body produces testosterone, which can have a negative impact on a man’s fertility.
3. Saturated fat and sugar should also be avoided in excess because they can reduce a man’s fertility rate. This is because excess fat and sugar can be toxic to the sp*rm cells that are being produced, so limit your consumption of saturated fats and sugary foods for your own good.
